Well one could argue that the Madden Cover Curse did not live up to its reputation this past season. Yeah, the Jets did not make the playoffs, but came close, had a much improved season from last year, and Favre did not miss any significant playing time due to injury. (Anyone going to argue for the Packers suffering the hit?)

However, one curse did live up to its reputation, and probably even built upon it. The Super Bowl losing team did not make the playoffs the following year once again! Not only did the Pats not make the playoffs, but they lost arguably the best QB in the league in their 1st game. I now fear the Super Bowl losing team curse more than the Madden Cover Curse.
